I'll be the first person to admit that I love a good Young Adult Distopian Fiction Novel. I live for the tensions caused by man vs society, teens discovering the injustices of the world, and the all too popular love triangles. Like Sour Cream and Onion Pringles, I eat it up.

(Believe it or not, writing that title actually caused me physical pain. If fake news is sacrificial of journalistic integrity, clickbait titles demolish an informative writer's pride in credibility.)

It's no secret that "fake news" has been a popular accusation among politicians and skeptics recently—take a peek at President Trump's twitter and it's a trending topic—but the issue itself is a complicated and an old one.

While working at Curtiss-Wright, I was assigned the task of creating a PowerPoint slideshow that contained a countdown timer to the shipment date of a major project that we could show off to visiting clients. Oddly enough, after scouring the internet in search of a function that would count down to a specific date and time, I discovered that nothing like that existed without downloading questionable software that was not approved by IT.

I couldn't believe it, either.
I created this to document the best practices for course designers when utilizing links to ensure that their courses were ADA compliant. It includes information about what link types were available within the Learning Management System (LMS) and how to use them with all students in mind.

In the other room, the coffee maker beeps a good morning. Jesse must be awake.
I’m not asleep, am I? I blink my eyes from the ceiling where they’ve been stuck since I got home past 2 a.m., wide open. Did I really just lay here all night?
His eyes hold the sky within them, the grey a whispered threat of rain. I see in them the reflection of a dog, loyal and patient, begging for her master’s safe return.
Hard-earned lessons cover his hands, the kind won while chopping a growing pile of wood. I see in the deep creases the perpetual praises his grandfather would give while insisting he continue.
